Madeline completed a Bachelor of Science in Podiatry at AUT in Auckland recently.
Born and raised in Central Auckland, Madeline has spent most holidays down in the Waikato with close family and friends to escape the hustle and bustle of big city life.
While studying Podiatry Madeline worked part-time in a specialist shoe store fitting customers into footwear for shoes specific to their foot type and daily requirements. Her background knowledge in Podiatry also meant that she had a good understanding and appreciation for specific footwear that would work best alongside devices such as orthotics.
Since moving to the Waikato, Madeline’s grandmother, who has trouble with her feet due to diabetes has enjoyed having her feet taken care of in the comfort of her own home. Her aunt also has troublesome ingrown toenails, which can cause issues when having to wear enclosed shoes for work. These experiences have enabled Madeline to gain an appreciation for the effects various foot problems and conditions can have across all age groups.
Madeline has always enjoyed helping others and finds joy in finding providing solutions to keep people moving across throughout the different stages of life.
